IEEE LECTURE ON “BIOMETRIC TECHNOLOGIES
FOR AUTOMATED BORDER CONTROL”

It was our privilege to have the IEEE lecture at Gautam Buddha University organized under IEEE Educational Activities Delhi Section and IEEE-GBU Student Branch.
As our guest of honor we had Registrar Sir Mr. Bachchu Singh, special guest being Prof. D.P. Kothari and Distinguished Speaker Prof. Vincenzo Piuri. We had the Registrar on the stage who shared a few words of wisdom with the audience.
All the eminent dignitaries were requested to perform the “PUSHPARPAN” at the Buddha Pratima.
We were pleased to hand away a token of momento to our respected guests and distinguished speaker.
Before starting with the lecture we had an introduction of our distinguished speaker. Prof. Vincenzo Piuri is a professor in Computer Engineering at the University of Milan, Italy since 2000. He is fellow of the IEEE, Distinguished Scientist of ACM and senior member at INNS. He has been IEEE Vice President for Technical Activities 2015, IEEE Director.
He has been President of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal 2013-19. He also received the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Technical Award 2002.
We were highly enlightened by Prof. Piuri’s knowledgeable lecture on such a unique topic “Biometric technologies for automated border control”.
We had Prof. D.P. Kothari who shared his thoughts and experiences with the audience.
With the further proceedings we had the felicitation of Buddha Pratima to our respected guests and distinguished speaker.
At the end, we had the IEEE-GBU Stuent Branch Councellor, Chairperson of IEEE Educational Activities Delhi Section and Joint Secretary IEEE Delhi Section Dr. Shabana Urooj to offer a formal Vote of Thanks.
